On Thursday 30th March we travelled to the City of Peterborough Hockey Club for this year's Year 5/6 competitive event. There were 6 teams in total and we began with a round robin event.
In our first game we drew 2-2 with St Thomas Moore before going on to defeat St Botolph's 5-0. We then kept this run going with a tight 1-0 victory against William Law, however our next game ended in a 3-1 loss to Barnack. The children responded brilliantly to end the group stage with a 4-0 win against Longthorpe.
This meant that we finished in 2nd place in the round robin stage and progressed through to the semi finals, where we met Longthorpe again and once again triumphed, this time winning 3-0. The final was a very tight affair where we faced Barnack once again. Despite the children's best efforts and a couple of close chances we lost 1-0 in a much improved performance.
This meant that the children finished in 2nd place overall and should be very proud of the way they played and the incredible goals that they scored.
