On Tuesday 16th May we travelled to the Peterborough Rugby Club to take part in the Peterborough NFL Flag competition. Once there each school was given an NFL team to represent and we had the pleasure of representing the Seattle Seahawks.
There were 12 teams in total and we started off taking part in a round robin group stage. In our group we faced Thomas Deacon's Academy, St Botolph's and Hampton Vale. The children played incredibly well and were victorious in all 3 matches, which set up a semi-final clash against Orton St John's Church School. This was a tight match but due to the team's perseverence we overcame the opposition to progress to the final.
In the final we played against St Thomas More Primary School and the children were incredible. They showed exceptional defense and responded with some great attacks in order to triumph as champions!
We have now qualified to represent all of Peterborough in the East of England Finals!
Well done to all of the players, they were truly exceptional and represented our school immaculately. One of the referees even commented that they our team were a pleasure to referee as they showed great respect towards not only the referees but also to the opponents throughout.
