Superstar Footballers!

Today we took two teams of Year 5/6s to the Peterborough United Utilita Kids Cup. There were 28 teams in total, which were split down into 4 groups with the winners of each getting through to semi-finals and finals if successful.

Our B team were in a very tricky group and unfortunately did not progress, however our A teams did an amazing job managing to win 4 matches and draw 2. This meant that they progressed through to take on Woodston Primary School in the semi final.

This match was a very tight game with chances for both teams, however thanks to some great goalkeeping the score remained 0-0 and it went to a penalty shootout. Our children kept their nerve scoring 3 out of 3 before our goalkeeper stepped up and saved Woodston's 3rd penalty to claim victory and put us through to the final!

The final was a very tough game with two brilliant sides competing. We showed some great promise and nearly took an early lead but some great goalkeeping from Baston stopped us. As the game went on our team had a few more chances to score but unfortunately we conceeded and eventually lost the game 1-0 meaning we finished in 2nd place overall!

Everyone in school is so proud of all of our footballers. They showed determination, teamwork, passion and unity throuhout and really gave everything.
