Yesterday our Girls football team travelled to Netherton United Football Club for the ESFA Cup.
Once we arrived we were put into a group where we played 6 matches. The girls played incredibly well and after an initial loss we then won our next 3 matches before a draw and a narrow tight loss to end the group.
This meant that we had finished 3rd our of 7 in our group and were matched up to play in the 5th/6th place playoff. It was an evenly matched game that ended in a 1-1 draw and the girls finishing tied in 5th place out of 15 schools.
It was a truly incredible perfomance by our team, which included some players that had never took part in competitive football matches before. We now can't wait to get stuck back into our Girls Football League matches where we will apply all we have learnt.
